If you're the Creative or Artistic Director of a theater and you're looking for a playwright that can literally make a character's life move and breathe through dialogue - then you've found what you're looking for in E. Claudette Freeman Literary.

Bhetty Waldron said "Claudette can take a concept and make it something magical." The late actress, director, producer found that out when she commissioned Claudette to help her write CHARCOAL SKETCHES, a biographical theater piece on the lives of Zora Neale Hurston, Mary McLeod Bethune and Augusta Savage. Those who saw the nationally-toured production were not only dazzled by Waldron's performance, but how distinctly different each of these rich characters were written. The dialogue was from the mind and heart of Claudette.

When the Miami Arena/Miami Sports and Exhibition Authority wanted to do a Black History piece, they went looking for someone who could do more than the typical production. The script they got from Claudette wowed Jim Jenkins, MSEA Director and a former Walt Disney Productions executive. When the show was over, a show that starred Danny Glover as the narrator, Jenkins told her she should shop it to his former employer, Disney Studios.
An ear for dialogue, an amazing ability to capture emotion and spin thrilling or humorous lines with delicate care. As a playwright, E. Claudette Freeman is the one you want!
