“BECAUSE THE WIND BLEW IT IN”

WRITING CHALLENGE

Playwright and Author E. Claudette Freeman is - well –  going a little crazy!  While busy at work coaching aspiring authors, she has decided to challenge herself in a very unique way and she wants you to join this challenge.  When you participate, you could very well end up listed as a contributor in the collection of short stories BECAUSE THE WIND BLEW IT IN, (Pecan Tree Publishing) Winter 2010. 

Here is the challenge, she is jumping head first into a WRITE-A-THON, you heard right a WRITE-A-THON.  Just how many short stories can she write between May 15 and June 30, 2010?  Place your pledges and find out. Pledges are per story based on the number of stories you believe she can write in the listed time frame. When you make a pledge ($2 per story minimum – of course there is no maximum) you also provide: two characters’ names, a story scenario and a setting.  At random, she will pull a pledge and write the story using the information provided.  In July, the publishing company will decide which stories will make it into the collection.  If your ideas lead to a published story then you will be listed as a contributor with a biographical paragraph and headshot accompanying the story. You will also receive three complimentary copies when the book is released and when/where applicable be invited to attend book signing events.  

Pledges must be made by May 14, 2010 and your pledge must be placed with a $2 commitment fee.  The $2 fee will be deducted from your overall pledge at the end of the write-a-thon. Pledges may be made via check payable to: Pecan Tree Publishing or via our website at www.soeincorporated.com.

So how do you keep track of how many stories she’s written? There will be regular updates posted on the website including an excerpt of the story (full stories will not be published to maintain the security of the full version prior to copyright).  Additionally, if you provide your email address, we’ll send you regular updates as well and you can follow the updates on Twitter and FaceBook.

No contributor royalties or book sell percentages apply.
